Being an introvert is more complicated than simple social anxiety. Introverted people don't just avoid people because society is annoying, we avoid people to save ourselves from the awkwardness. Awko taco conversations are all completely avoidable! We don't have to engage in small talk with the Trader Joe's employees, we don't have to pretend to share an interest with a stranger anymore, and we don't have to look at pictures of our coworker's child! Introverts can live with a certain amount of freedom in their social dissociation, enjoying a peaceful existence of their own making.
We control the narrative when we're relaxing at home. Introverts get to watch the entertainment of their choice, they get to pick the food to eat every night, and when we're tired, we don't have to wait for an Uber to find a way home through the nighttime chaos–we can just walk 10ft over to the snuggly comforts of our bed.
Life is good when you're introverted.
