It's almost summertime, which is when the job of parenting goes from full-time to… extra full time. Unless your kids are shuttered away at summer camp, odds are they have more time on their hands than they did during the school year.
But look on the bright side: no more helping with homework! Who knew 6th-grade algebra was so difficult? Sure, you may have to remind them to get ahead on their summer reading so they don't save it all for the last week of August, but at least you don't have to worry about getting them to school at the crack of dawn. It's an excellent time of year to be a kid, and adults should be able to enjoy some of that good energy too. So freeze yourself some Otter Pops, crack open a Shandy, and tell the kids to occupy themselves with the water hose for a while.
