Infancy is the only time in your life when being fat is considered a good thing. If you're a fat baby, everyone and their mother is obsessed with how chunky and cute you are, but if you're fat at any other stage of life, you're a scourge to humanity and must be punished to the greatest possible extent. Do you know when a good time to be fat is? When you're old! I've heard old people in my life complaining ad nauseam about how fat they are, but if they have a degenerative disease that makes eating difficult for them, they're going to be a lot better off if they're not 95 pounds soaking wet with rainboots on.
Unfortunately, some babies aren't even spared from the stigma of fatphobia. One mother recently took to Twitter after her 14-month-old was deemed "obese" by his neurologist, even though he's a baby and only 72nd percentile for weight for his age.
