As a parent, you often must sacrifice your aesthetic wishes for at least the first couple of years of your baby's life. That's when you can easily control the clothes they wear, but when it comes to toys and accessories, products tend to veer into tacky territory sooner rather than later. If the aesthetic of your home is super important to you, I can understand why you might want to buy muted strollers, rattles, and baby bouncers. However, much of that control can get thrown out the window once your kid can articulate their opinions. Kids love rainbows and bright colors, and if you care about their preferences, you'll give in when they ask for a rainbow teddy bear, right? Right???
One aesthetically minded mom recently got a lot of slack on Twitter for refusing to buy her daughter a $15 rainbow bear from Build a Bear because she thought it was too ugly.
